The Artist - Stewart Taylor

Stewart Taylor, the 2024 Creativepool Artist of the Year, is a distinguished printmaker with over 30 years of experience. His work is held in the V&A Museum Print Collection and has been showcased at The Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair for seven consecutive years, earning Director’s Picks in 2022 and 2024. Stewart’s prints have also been featured at the RA Summer Show, NOPE, and the 16th Graphica Creativa Print Triennale, where the Jyväskylä Art Museum acquired his work. In 2018, he received the Great Art Prize. Based in Dartmouth, Stewart’s ongoing Tree Portraits series reflects on humanity’s disconnection from nature. Recent works include prints of Joshua Trees lost to wildfires and UK trees affected by Ash Dieback. In 2023, he raised over £3,500 for the Woodland Trust through sales of his print The Old Man of Calke. His work continues to explore the fragility and resilience of the natural world.
