The Artist - Louise Scammell Louise Scammell is a printmaker with a profound connection to the sea and a passion for sharing her love of the natural world. A member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and Make Southwest, she captures the fluid and ethereal creatures she encounters underwater through her innovative printmaking practice. Using a waterproof sketch pad, Louise draws beneath the surface and translates these images into prints with wooden lithographic plates (Mokulito), lino blocks, collagraphs, and monotypes. Her work reflects coastal and underwater experiences in the Southwest, Stockholm Island, and Scotland’s ‘Hope Spot,’ where she has contributed to conservation efforts. Louise regularly exhibits her work in London, including at the Mall Galleries’ *Natural Eye* exhibition, alongside her peers in the Society of Wildlife Artists. Her prints celebrate the beauty and fragility of marine life, blending artistry with environmental awareness. | |
