My work now is based on a lifetime of drawing and recording, trying to capture and reflect upon the marks that both man and nature have made on the landscape. I paint, using a mixture of oil pastels with oil paint overlaid, trying to produce a sense of space and a sense of place. Through semi abstract images , I try to create an atmosphere or feeling of a landscape that the viewer might have walked through or caught a glimpse of through a car window. Painting always involves some sort of journey. “My destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing.”
