Big Red Seer

Harry started his artistic career in 2011 when he was encouraged to take some short courses at Plymouth College of Art and Design, the now newly named Arts University Plymouth. Starting with blacksmithing and glass blowing interspersed with lampworking, glass casting and basket weaving. During this period of discovery Harry was encouraged to enrol in a craft degree, after a long career in engineering he completed a BA Hons in 3D Design Craft in 2022. He works predominantly in steel and glass, sometimes encapsulating sheet glass in brightly pop art coloured steel forms. The work produced for this year’s Delamore Arts is designed to stand out and stand within the landscape; steel columns twist and turn skywards or downwards depending on your perspective, some brightly coloured whilst others have an industrial rawness to them. Alongside these stand abstract images and forms ready to blend into the landscape.
