Liberated from his former professional life on and around the sea, Justin Rees in now a full-time Cornwood native. He has taken to painting with a degree of annoyance that he didn’t start this seriously 50 years ago, so he is pushing hard to catch up! Working originally in watercolours, but increasingly in oils, portraiture is now his main focus but he’s still driven to capture in paint anything that really seizes his imagination. However, a bad fish-based pictorial pun should never be missed when the opportunity presents itself.
